Subject Continuity

Perhaps one of the most interesting anomalies found while Reverse Recording Deciphering is the matter of Subject Continuity.  Subject Continuity is when the subject matter of the Forward Lyric has the same or similar subject matter or topic as in the Reverse Lyric.

While Reverse Deciphering this song I didn't pay any attention to what the Forward Lyrics were until I had completely interpreted the Reverse Lyrics.   That way I was insuring that my Reverse Deciphering outcome was not influenced or prejudiced by me knowing what the corresponding Forward Lyrics were.

Here are some examples of Subject Continuity:

In Cut 2 the Subject Continuity is apparent:

Forward- "Lessons were learned and all shown"

Reverse- "For Saul and the Lords Wisdom"

Here the Reverse Lyric has a subject matter of Wisdom and the Forward Lyric has the subject matter of Lessons were Learned .  This is a very simple example of Subject Continuity.

In Cut 3 the Subject Continuity is clear:

Forward- "One more year past the kids have grown"

Reverse- "For thy sake the time for you"

Here we have the Reverse Lyric mention  the Time and the Forward Lyric mentions one more year past, again a mention of time.  Again, this is a very simple example.

In Cut 1 the Subject Continuity is very interpretive on my part:

Forward- "Love in your heart is all you own"

Reverse- "Oh Lord __?__ who are in Heaven"

The Reverse Lyric talks of who are in Heaven.  The subject matter here is Spirits since by definition Spirits are the 'who' who occupy Heaven .   The Forward Lyric of love in your heart is all you own can be construed as having the subject matter of Spirit since it is a very common belief that what you feel in your heart is part of your essence, your soul, your Spirit.
